2007
The beginnings
When FME was founded in 2007, it had a clear vision: to make inverter technology, which until then had mainly been used in professional environments, accessible to private households.
Compact power generators should no longer be large, loud, and cumbersome machines, but reliable and handy companions for everyday use—whether for camping, in the garden, or as an emergency power solution for the home.
With this mission in mind, FME launched its first gasoline inverter generators. The XG-SF series, with outputs between 600 and 7000 watts, offered for the first time a selection of compact units that delivered clean and stable power – safe even for sensitive devices such as computers, televisions, or heating systems.
FME thus took the decisive step of making modern generator technology available to a wide audience – and laid the foundation for the further development of the brand.
2010
An innovation sets new standards
Just three years later, the breakthrough came: with the FME XG-SF 5600D, the first diesel inverter generator in its class, FME presented a genuine world first.
With 5.5 kW of power, electric start via key, and even radio remote control, this model became an absolute top seller and shaped the image of the brand.
In 2024, the logical next step followed: the FME XG-SF 5600D Carbon—a successor that takes innovation, performance, and ease of use to a new level.
2021-2022
The expansion – FME continues
Expansion – FME continues
It quickly became clear that demand for 400V generators specifically for domestic emergency power supply was growing rapidly. The answer: the FME DF-8000, the first dual-fuel inverter generator from FME. It could be operated with both gasoline and gas and offered the option of single-phase and three-phase operation – a real novelty on the market.
The next step – diesel in a new dimension
Many customers preferred diesel as a fuel. FME responded with the FME 8000iD-SP – the first diesel inverter generator for single-phase and three-phase operation.
Its decisive advantage:
unbalanced load capability. This means that it can load phases differently and still deliver the full power of 8.0 kW at 230V.
since 2023
The future of energy supply
With the development of the FME SimpleGen series, FME is opening a new chapter. Since 2023, our team has been working on a series of large generators, known as emergency power systems (EPS).
These powerful systems cover a range from 20 to 3,000 kVA and are used where a reliable, independent, and uninterruptible power supply is vital—for example, in government institutions, the THW (Federal Agency for Technical Relief), hospitals, and critical infrastructures.
The SimpleGen series is therefore exemplary of what FME stands for: innovation, reliability, and progress – from small inverter generators for private households to large-scale solutions for the most demanding requirements.
